We spent the time away from Jake exploring our area by first visiting a few of the local wineries here in Central Texas. We loved the Mandola Estate Winery and restaurant. It was like being in Italy and so relaxing you'd never know how close you were to the city. After an amazing dinner we headed to our retreat at the Lost Pines Resort and Spa. It is only 45 or so minutes outside of Austin but you feel miles away.Bubba and Jake of course did great together and enjoyed a few new adventures along the way. When we came back to Austin on Saturday, Jake and I took Bubba to one of our favorite spots to take people visiting, The Oasis. I think I've mentioned it before but they're known for bad food, good drinks and an amazing view. They also have some interesting pieces of art that Jake was captivated by.

On Sunday we all went to brunch at Z Tejas, a yummy tex-mex restaurant. Jake really enjoyed the pancakes and we all had a great meal. After brunch Jake, Bubba and I went to one of our favorite spots, the Austin Children's Museum.
During Bubba's trip we got a very exciting call from Paris where Auntie Rachel and soon to be UNCLE Warren. During their trip to Paris they got engaged! Warren gave us a heads up when he called me before the trip (good move calling the sister)! We're so excited for you guys!
Early the next morning we headed out! Alex left around 5:30 or something but was excited and ready to go! Talia did a great job of pushing Jake!
It was so exciting watching the runners as they made their way through the course. This came from the incredible feeling of watching people accomplishing their goals and Brenna's extreme excitement of being at the race. We staked out a great spot on the bridge to watch the runners.
Alex stopped for a brief second and then he was off again. He did awesome finishing the half-marathon in under 2 hours! It was awesome and we can't wait to cheer him on again! He also raised almost $3,000 for my organization so thanks to all of you who supported his efforts!
Now most of you know about Jake's obsession with "the guys" and all things Sesame Street. It all started when my Grandma sent him Big Bird and then soon after Elmo followed and the rest was history. He had "the guys" way before we ever let him actually watch it on T.V. So when I heard that "Sesame Street Live" was coming to Austin, I couldn't resist. The pictures aren't what I had hoped they'd be mostly because it was dark, the battery in our camera died and they're from our iPhones.

One of Jake's favorite friends at school is Jackie. Here they are in the kitchen at school.
We've gotten to know her parents and recently had them over for brunch and crazy kid-play. I guess they wore themselves out so much that they needed a nap!
It was another fun month and March is looking pretty fun too with a visit from Mimi coming soon!
