Rachel & Warren's Wedding

I can't believe my little sister is married! It was so wonderful to watch her as a bride and to see the wedding come together so perfectly.

Alex, Jake and I headed out to San Francisco Thursday before the wedding. We arrived to a very excited Mimi and Bubba. After some lunch and a little exploring, we had a visit from my freshman year college roommate, Kiyomi, and her adorable daughter Ivy. Although Jake and Ivy had never met, Ivy was a big fan of Jake's from his YouTube videos. What a rock star he is!

Playing hide and seek with Mimi and Bubba and jumping on the little roll away bed were highlights. Another big hit, Bubba spinning them around and around on the office chair.

Who knew that a hotel room could be so much fun for the preschool set. Jake and Ivy had so much fun together.

That night with Mimi and Bubba on Jake duty, we met up with another past roommate, Jake's godmommy and soon to-be bride, Libby. Libby met us at the hotel so she could come and see Jake before we went to meet up with her fiancee Phil. Of course, godmommy came with gifts for Jake. Robot and Dinosaur toys and books in honor of Jake's baby to-be!

We had a great dinner with Libby and Phil and can't wait for their wedding in July!

On Friday, Jake hung with Mimi while Alex and I toured the Giants stadium. Alex was pretty bummed that there wasn't a game while we were in town, especially since his team, the Braves, had been there the previous week but happily there were a few remnants of their visit.

The park was beautiful but the views were just absolutely amazing. The fantastic weather helped as well!

On the field and enjoying the day! The belly bump has absolutely made itself know!
Friday afternoon Rachel, Rachael (my co-matron of honor), mom and I had some serious bridal errands to run, including picking up the dress!

Friday night, my mom hosted a welcome happy hour in her suite. Unexpectedly, Rachel, Jake and I ended up being the last three standing so we got some nice quiet time with the bride.

Saturday morning Jake and I took the Bart to Berkeley to have brunch with the Davidson-side of the family at my dad's first cousin, Carol's house. Carol's granddaughter is maybe a year younger than Jake and we all wanted them to have the chance to meet. Below, the first meeting and Jake and Bubba and Sophia and Bubbe.

Saturday afternoon manicures and pedicures with a few of the ladies. Rachael and Warren's niece Barbara discuss serious spa things.

Saturday night was the rehearsal dinner at Out the Door, a sister restaurant to SF's famous Slanted Door. Amazing Vietnamese food and plenty of it. It was a lovely meal and a nice chance for people to meet and reconnect.

Sunday morning Alex, Jake and I met up with my good friends Evan, Mark and their little guy, Zev. Evan and Mark met at our wedding (with some help from Alex and a few others), got married and now have Zev.

Then it was time to get ready for the big event!

Although we stayed in downtown San Francisco, the wedding itself was in Mill Valley. I went early with the bridal party and Alex and Jake came a little bit later on the bus they had for all their guests. It was a beautiful ride over the Golden Gate Bridge but someone missed it all.

Even baby girl got to be part of the pictures, the newly expanded (and expanding) Diller family and our little family of three (for now).

A few from the professional photographer -

Dad and I gave speeches at the wedding. Once again (and for the last time) dad managed to win the bet and didn't cry while giving his speech and if I do say so myself, I gave a pretty good speech as well. I didn't cry either but I did have to "take a moment."

The dancing was constant and fun. Below Rachel and our dad have a dance, Alex with Mimi and then Alex and Jake!

The next day at brunch Jake and Auntie Rachel steal a moment over bagels. So much nice time with Auntie Rachel.
After we said our goodbyes we headed out for a little more sightseeing before the flight home. We had to take Jake on the cable cars and headed for a quick stroll down at Fisherman's Wharf. The cable car conductor even let Jake ring the bell!

At the airport and...we're done here. Thank you Rachel and Warren for such a wonderful excuse to spend time with y'all, see family and friends, bring Jake to San Francisco and get out of town for a bit! It was a great trip and an even better wedding and we were so glad to be part of it.
