We started out with a quick trip to San Antonio to meet up with Lisa, Jon, Drew, Nathan and Jon's parents for fun at kiddie park. Kiddie Park is an old time amusement park that has been a landmark in San Antonio for almost 100 years. It was recently renovated and was super fun for Jake.
It was great that the boys could go on the rides without us having to go on them too! First Jake only wanted to go on the carousel and he must have gone at least 5 different times.Jake and Nathan were quite a pair hitting all the rides.
Time for lunch after a very fun (but hot) morning at Kiddie Park. We'll definitely be going back!
I had the chance to finally see Jake's swimming lessons and to have some post-lesson pool time with him. Despite the lessons Jake just isn't really into it. He loves splashing around with us but the whole swimming and head under water thing....not so much.
The big excitement for the month was our vacations...Jake to Dallas and Alex and mine to Sonoma. I had a work meeting in Arlington, TX leading up to Libby's wedding weekend in Sonoma so I headed up there on Wednesday and Alex and Jake headed to Plano on Thursday for Camp Vivier.Camp Vivier is also known as the Plano, TX home of Philip, Brenna, Michael, Josh and Talia Vivier. Brenna and Alex are first cousins and since Jake was born they have all been some of his biggest fans. Jake has stayed with my mom and dad and that is it so this was a big deal, if not for Jake at least for me and Alex. While I'm sure he missed us (or at least noticed that we weren't around) he had a really fun time. Probably helped that he had a whole house of people (and guests) doting on his every need. That and the endless stream of Talia's friends there to play with him.
Meanwhile we headed to San Francisco! With the exception of SF traffic, especially trying to leave the city on a Friday during rush hour, we had a great trip. We got to Guernville in Sonoma County and where the wedding festivities were taking place a little late but in time for me to give my toast to Libby. On Saturday morning we found a cute breakfast place in town and then headed out with Neal & Dominique to check out a few wineries. It is beyond sad to be pregnant and in wine country but thankfully I have a smart doctor who gave me the ok for a couple of glasses for the weekend so I at least was able to have a few tastes.

We left the Kohl's to head back so I could have some girl time with the bride and her ladies.
Everything was so lovely about the wedding, especially the bride and of course the groom. It was all very Libby and the dress was just one more example of this, of course there was green involved!

It was such a fun weekend and we were so happy to be able to be there to celebrate with them all!

You may have seen me post on Facebook about the Show Your Hearts (www.showyourhearts.org)campaign or talk about the Berry Family from Houston but if not I wanted to share this with y'all.
On July 3rd while returning from an annual family road trip in Colorado back home, the Berry Family found themselves to be victims of a horrific and tragic fatal car accident. Their Minivan carrying parents Joshua and Robin Berry and their children Peter age 9, Aaron age 8, and Willa age 6 was hit head on by another vehicle who had crossed into their lane of traffic. The parents Joshua and Robin Berry were tragically killed leaving their 3 children behind. While the children did survive the crash, both boys sustained serious spinal cord injuries and they are both paralyzed below the waist. The boys are currently being treated for their many injuries in a Chicago area hospital.
There is a significant urgent need to raise funds to aid these now orphaned children's ongoing needs, including medical rehabilitation, physical therapy, psychological support and education.
Show Your Hearts, started by singer Justin Bieber and his management team, will facilitate the efforts of all people who want to come to these children's aid and support them in this time of need. Donations will be made directly to the Joshua and Robin Berry Children's Trust.
If you can, please consider a donation to the Joshua and Robin Berry Children's Trust. Click here for more information.
At an Austin fundraiser for the family, Jake enjoyed his ice cream treat!
