We even had a weekend lazy enough that we had time to make a huge Saturday morning breakfast. Jake helped with the eggs. Watch out Top Chef, here comes Jake!
Here is another attempt at capturing the belly even though it doesn't really show just how big the thing is.
Jake is all about Dinosaurs (and cars but I found dino sheets first) right now so I've gone prehistoric in his room. I've even attempted my own DIY art project that after a miserable first attempt turned out pretty cute.
I'll probably reveal the nursery (and maybe the baby?) in the next blog since I'm still waiting on a few things to be delivered. Thank goodness for Etsy!
During his career at ECP, Jake has been a Butterfly, Turtle, Ladybug and a Dalmatian. He is now a whale. After such an amazing year in the ladybug room we were very sad (and kind of mad) that the kids were split up so much. The biggest shock was that Jake and his girl Leah were separated. The lead teacher in the Whale room, Ms. Katherine is a University of Georgia alum and a teacher we know well so that made us feel better. We were also glad that Jake was still with buds Avi and Jacob and reunited with former Turtle friend Ellen. Pictures from the Meet the Teacher's Day and the 1st day of school.
We didn't get any pictures but we had a fun visit from our friend Shana Treger for a work event that she and I both attended - Shana works for the National Apartment Association and I'm with the Texas Apartment Association. We're now expecting a visit from the whole Treger family!
We got our red and black on to go hang out at SEC Picnic. Alex is the President for the Austin SEC club and the Austin Dawgs so Jake and I went down to see him and hang out despite the heat. It was a great event and Alex and the whole SEC board did an amazing job especially in the heat. Wish our little Dawg was in a better mood and we could have stayed longer but it was just too hot (I think it got up to 110 that day) to be out for long.
Jake and Daddy pre-picnic and Jake enjoys some lunch.
In September we're looking forward to the return of football, hoping for cooler weather (unlikely) and quite possibly, a baby!
