September Wrap-Up

This month was all about getting ready for our new arrival (who is running out of time to be born in September) and trying to enjoy our time together as a family of three. It was really important to me to get things done as much as possible ahead of time so we could just relax and spend time with Jake and Alex.

We were all super excited for the start of college football season and started things out right by watching College Game Day together and it all went down hill from there. The Ducks and Dawgs both last their opening games. Thankfully since then things have started to improve but it was a tough first weekend.
Jake and his dinosaur friend root on the Dawgs at The Tavern! Don't worry Duck fans, he has Duck gear too, Daddy made sure of it!

Jake and Leah met up for a playdate while their daddies had their own version of a playdate...fantasy football draft.
We didn't last long at the pool but enjoyed stopping at the new icee truck in the neighborhood.

I've been showing Jake clips of The Lion King on YouTube since they announced that it would return to the theater. So Jake was more than a little excited to finally see it in full. Alex's friend Brian and his daughter Lily joined them for the movie. Jake wore his 3D glasses the whole time and loved every second of it! Hakuna Matata!

Here I am at about 37 weeks. The baby girl is already bigger than Jake was when he was born. We're beyond ready to meet her.

That Sunday was a family day. After my yoga class, we headed down to Able's for lunch on the lake. It was even nice enough to sit outside.
After lunch we visited the Austin Children's Museum. They were in the middle of changing exhibits (the dinosaurs are coming and Jake couldn't be more excited) but it was still fun to run around and explore.
Jake always stops into the cow room and he loved learning how to make a parachute using string, wax paper, tape and a penny!
Jake went on his first field trip this week. They went to the post office to mail Rosh Hashana cards. He had the best time and I'm looking forward to being able to volunteer to help out with the next one while I'm on maternity leave.
Happy Rosh Hashana to everyone celebrating. We're pretty sure this is going to be a very sweet year and we wish you all the same!
This past Saturday, Jake and I headed out to start the Fall birthday season with Jack's 4th birthday party. It was at Pump it Up where Jake had his birthday the year before. I couldn't get over what a difference a year made as Jake attacked the big slides and jumped with abandonment.

The drought is really bad here and Jake's trying to do his part to conserve. We're only allowed to water using our sprinklers once a week so Jake and Daddy try to supplement to make sure that our new grass out front doesn't totally die! We sure picked a great year to landscape!
We hung out on Sunday afternoon with Jake's friends Avi, Alex and Jackie at Jackie's house. It was beyond amusing to watch the boys so excited about the pink barbie jeep.

Stay tuned to finally meet Jake's little sister and the debut of their new blog site.
