The third month of Jake's life began with a rather emotionally draining visit to the Doctor for Jake's 2 month shots. Becca and I were both there for this and it was hard watching the nurse stick that sweet, baby skin of Jake's with several shots. Still, we got through and most importantly, Jake got through it.
Not to long after the visit to the Doctor, was a fun night out with our friends, Rick and Aura, at our neighborhood restaurant, 'Food Matters'. Rick & Aura especially enjoyed their time with Jake. Also that weekend was going to be an additional visit from Grandpa Jerry, who was coming to town for the weekend to see Jake for the first time since the Bris, and also, DC was a stopover prior to Jerry's 2 month sojourn to South Africa.

Jake and Grandpa Jerry:

One of the fun things for Jake will be all the strange & unusual gifts he will be receiving going forward from his traveling, west coast Grandpa....as you will learn in the 5 month blog, Grandpa Jerry doesn't disappoint!)
After Grandpa Jerry's visit, we took Jake over to our friends' Greg & Shana's house (and soon they are expecting a little friend for Jake!) for his frst Super Bowl. Jake was torn between whether to root for the Patriots or the Giants, so he wore a cute, generic, light blue and striped football outfit and did his best not to cry too much during the game. (the halftime show was another story; of course, I wanted to cry too during that snoozer).

Not long after the Super Bowl, an important visitor was soon going to meet Jake for the very first time: Jake's absolutely wonderful Godmother (who also lives in San Francisco), Libby. Libby was Becca's roommate for a long time here in DC (and was there to witness the beginning of Jake's parents' relationship) and Libby has remained a special part of our lives since, and was a happily agreed upon choice to be Jake's Godmother. Libby's visit was (as always) a lot of fun and we took a lot of wonderful photos with Jake & Libby.

The month of February was also Jake's first Valentine's Day. Jake was so amazingly thoughtful, he managed to buy both his mommy and daddy Valentine's cards, of course mom and dad not forgetting to get them for eachother. Despite some very nice past Valentine's together, this was easily our favorite because it was the first one with our newest valentine, mr. Jake.

The last part of Jake's 3rd month was a weekend visit from Jake's east coast Grandparents, my mom & dad, Zayda and Grandma Dorry. They came up from North Carolina for the weekend because it was my mom's birthday (February 16th) and what better way to spend your birthday than with grandson Jake? This was Zayda and Dorry's 3rd time to be with Jake and my mom uttered the words each day, "he got cuter!", a LOT.

And like with Grandpa Jerry's visit, the visit from my parents also meant time for Becca and I to have a few hours away for a movie. Not that we like too much time away from him, but it's still nice for us to feel like 'adults' for a few hours and remember what a date a feels like. As for my parents, well, I think it's safe to say that all 4 of Jake's grandparents are completely hooked on this child. Almost as much as his mom & dad.
