Walking, but not so Tall. (yet).

Jake had quite an exciting weekend, but the momentous time of the week happened on Wednesday when we captured video of Jake finally taking his steps! (he took a few steps earlier in the week but this was the most serious walk of all and the one we caught on tape). Here's the official video of this 'step' or steps:

On Friday, the 17th, Jake turned 11 months old! While it's so exciting, it's also a little bittersweet to think as of today, Sunday, Jake has less than 1 month left before he officially is a one year old. We can't believe 11 months have passed, but it's hard to argue against these being the best 11 months of our lives being parents to the most wonderful and delicious little boy you could ever have. Here are Jake and I for his 11 month pictures with daddy:

Here mommy and Jake check out his favorite touch n' feel book during the photo shoot:

Saturday was a crazy day with lots of places to go and people to see. Jake finally attended his first Georgia game at the official Georgia Bulldogs sports bar in the area, Crystal City Sports Pub, when he and mommy showed up in the 3rd quarter. Here in his Georgia Bulldogs jersey, Jake tries to grab daddy's beer:

Here Jake tries to do his Knowshon Moreno-like Heisman pose after Gerogia scores a touchdown against Vanderbilt: Also at Crystal City, our friend Carolyn stopped by for a little while to help root Georgia on (which was every generous of her considering she went to Vandy), and she certainly enjoyed seeing the youngest and handsomest Georgia fan there. Here, Carolyn assists in feeding the little star: Not only was it nice to see Carolyn, but an additional bonus was seeing our friends Jesse and Liz. Not only had Jesse and Liz not met Jake yet, but it happened to be Liz's 30th birthday yesterday and she wanted to celebrate by being at Crystal City to see her USC Trojans play (who happened to be on the same televisions, right after Georgia's game, conveniently). Here Jake and Liz become fast friends:

After Georgia's victory, we headed with Mr. Adventure out to Tyson's Corner, to meet up for dinner with our good friends, Rachel, Brian and their adorable 2 year old daughter, Samantha. It's been a while since we've seen them, so it was really nice to catch up. Here, Rachel's enjoying the meeting between Jake and Samantha at dinner:

Here Brian and Jake get to know one another:

With a busy Saturday being a fun day filled with lots of people who wanted to see Jake, the final mini event was early Sunday morning when our good friend from the west coast, Lee Morrison, was in town for a wedding, and Becca and Jake headed over to Dupont Circle and met up with Lee at the Starbucks there. Here Jake and Lee do some male bonding:

A very fun weekend indeed, as we enjoy Jake's last few weeks of being, officially, a "baby".
