Before Jake goes on his next adventure this weekend, I wanted to give some of the highlights of our trip to North Carolina last weekend to see Jake's "East Coast" grandparents.
We left Friday and had a pretty easy trip down. Jake slept for at least half the ride so that was great. Jake was having a "daddy-day" and only wanted to be held by da-da but when he wasn't with Alex he was exploring Grandma Dorry's house and the many, many breakable things that Jake wanted to touch and pull off the shelves!
Of course Grandma Dorry fed us well! Jake was happy to try some new foods (since we seem to have the same boring rotation) and to find new folks to play "drop the sippy cup" with.

Jake of course gots lots of love from his grandparents and yes, Grandma Dorry thought that Jake got even cuter!

Saturday was a gorgeous day and we had fun going out to lunch and walking around the neighborhood. There was some work being done on the street so Jake was fascinated by the trucks and we must have seen at least 6 dogs on our walk so he was a happy guy!

Saturday night after Jake went to bed, Alex and I went out for dinner and a movie. It was really nice to have a night out and we were thankful for the free babysitting. It was a quick but fun trip! After a stop for lunch and a diaper change it was decided...who needs pants.

It was a crazy week (hence the late posting about our weekend) but we had a very special visitor on Thursday night! Jake's godmommy, Libby, was in town and even though it was a short visit we were SO happy to see her!
