I'm sure this won't be a surprise to any of you but Jake is doing great! He's meeting and exceeding all the milestones and is growing up (and out) quickly. He's now 22+ pounds - 2 1/2 more pounds than at his last check-up and 30 inches or so. The length measurement was the hardest to get since he's a little wiggleworm. He got a TB test which he was fine for and two shots which he wasn't particularly happy about. He did get a spider man sticker that he was quite fascinated by!
Uh oh...here comes the shot lady.
So this weekend Alex went up to NYC to see some friends, leaving me and Jake to have a fun mommy & baby weekend.Saturday morning we went out to meet my friend and former co-worker Heidi and her cutie-pie son, Alan. Alan took it all in as Jake ran around the mall except of course in the picture below. We had a fun lunch with the boys and headed home for nap time.
Sadly for me, nap time never came. Since we still had some energy to burn we went to gymboree to run around and of course for bubbles. After a quick trip to Harris Teeter where Jake made friends with just about everyone. That included a woman who I think was a little too serious about wanting to take him home!

Sunday morning we went back to Gymboree and tried the next class up for tots 16-20 months. Jake did great and the teacher thought he was ready to move up. After class we were hungry and went to weekend brunch standby Whitlow's to meet my long-time friend Maya and her fiancee, Rob. Jake ate everything in site and I got wedding planning updates.

After the trunk show we were happy to head home to see daddy. We were of course so happy to see him and to have him home but we had a fun time just mommy and (not so little) baby!
