Thank you, Grandpa Jerry!

Last week my dad (aka...Grandpa Jerry) happily flew across the country to come and hang out with Jake for a few days while Alex and I went out of town for a few days to Austin.

I have to admit that I wasn't particularly worried about leaving Jake, mostly because I was so excited for a few days off and my first flight in almost 16 months without Jake! It was nice that Grandpa Jerry had an assist from "Auntie" Sandy! Sandy is my dad's first cousin and took a quick train ride from Philly to come and hang out with Jerry and Jake!

Since I wasn't there I can only report on the bits that Grandpa Jerry shared with me, who knows what Jake and Jerry really were up to. To sum it up, here's what I know:

  • Together with Sandy the boys had fun at Gymboree.

  • Made more than one trip to Harris Teeter (grocery store).

  • They hung out in Old Town.

  • Successfully made it to and from school twice!

  • They found a fabulous new bakery and ate hamentashen (one that Alex and I've seen a million times but never went into).

  • They even kept the house clean and....

  • Had a ton of fun when mom and dad were out of town!!

  • Jake was sad to say goodbye to grandpa, and his mommy and dada were super thankful to Grandpa Jerry for coming stay with the Jake man! Thanks again, dad!
