Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the mommy's out there! I had a wonderful Mother's Day and a great weekend. We're getting closer to our move and things have been very busy so it was nice to have a bit of a break from all of the craziness. Despite a way too early wake up call from Jake, it was a great day. Jake and I went on a really nice early morning walk and even saw some Geese and baby ducks. Jake and Dada got me the best cards and an awesome mother's day present....Wii and Wii Fit. I'm so excited and have secretly wanted it for a while. So fun!!! Thank you, Alex for such a great day! We had a great brunch at the Peacock Grand Cafe. This is a spin-off of one of our favorite places in D.C., Peacock Cafe. Eggs Benedict and bloody Mary's! It was so fun and totally delicious. We had a great time and Jake looked so cute in his preppy little mom's day outfit! After brunch we got a little Wii time (the tennis is super fun) in during Jake's nap and just hung out. In the spirit of the good-bye tour we met up with our friends Mark and Kathy at Ray's Hell Burger. You might have heard of Ray's, last week President Obama and Vice President Biden stopped there for lunch. It was fun to see the Dedrick's and the burgers were OMG good! It is almost as though this weekend was sponsored by the Beef Council but last night we had went out with our friends Greg and Shana for one of our traditional Capital Grill nights. Great friends, good wine...so fun! We were lucky to have my cousin Stephanie come and stay with Jake despite the fact that he was totally Mr. Grumpy Pants. Thanks, Steph!! In other Jake news and general cuteness, Jake has been learning the body parts in school and Alex taught him an extra one too.

And here is a bonus video of Jake, Elmo and Big Bird dancing:
