Jake is already getting used to the house and he loves all the extra room to run and play.
We're not quite sure why we need a fireplace but Jake seems to think it is a good place to sit!
He particularly likes having two rooms right now - one to sleep in and to read his "booooks" and the other filled with his toys as I sort through the baby toys and the big boy toys. He loves chasing and throwing balls throughout the house and watching the balls bounce down the stairs is particularly amusing.
We're particularly excited to only have one flight of stairs in this house! Those of you who were at our Alexandria townhouse can appreciate this!
We're almost unpacked but still have a few more boxes to go. I wasn't too concerned about finishing until I watched our little climber monkey get in and out of a box all by himself. Time to finish unpacking!
We're enjoying our new neighborhood and are so happy how especially close we are to Jake's school and the JCC, to my work, and that we're a bit closer to downtown and Alex's office as well.
Here's Jake coming home from school and the (maybe) 5 minute drive home.

He literally said to me, "no pictures, mama" but then his inner ham kicked in. He looked particularly cute in his new fall wardrobe so we had a bit of a photoshoot.

Speaking of fall, my apologies to all of you already experiencing 30-40 degree weather. Today the high was about 70 degrees or so and people thought it was cold out. Must say we're enjoying that!
We're super proud of Alex who has joined a running club which runs in our neighborhood as well as all around Austin. He's prepping for a half marathons in February. For the Austin marathon, Alex will be running for and raising money for my organization, ACTIVE Life. So please be generous when he hits you up for a donation. :)
Jake and I are gearing up for a trip to Eugene next week to see just about the entire immediate Diller-Sacks family as my mom is honored for her work at her preschool. We're excited to see Mimi, Bubba, Ray-tchel, Great and Ju-dy plus it was a great excuse for a quick trip. Jake is excited to go on the airplane especially now that he comprehends what it is and that it goes up in the sky!
We're also looking forward to a visit from Uncle Phillip when he is in town for the Austin Film Festival. The Hotel Ramati is officially open!
Now that we're finally getting settled in the house, it and Austin are really starting to feel like home!
