Jake in January!

I think I blinked and missed January! So far 2011 is shaping up to be a great year!

Well, sort of...my Oregon Ducks had an amazing season going 12-0! It was amazing! They made it for the first time ever to the National Championship game! It was awesome and the couple of weeks leading up to the game were so exciting and fun. Jake and I ready on game day!

Unfortunately the game didn't end how we wanted but it was a great game and the Ducks had an amazing season! Can't wait until next year!

We've really been enjoying getting to know more of the families in Jake's class. It is a really great group this year. Sunday lunch out with Avi, Jack and Jake and their families. Look at these hunks.

The big event of the month was Josh Vivier's bar mitzvah in Dallas. Besides the bar mitzvah boy himself, Jake was quite a little star of the weekend. It was an easy trip to Plano (about 3 1/2 hours) where the Vivier's live especially because Jake slept almost the whole way there and back.

Dressed up and ready for the Bar Mitzvah!
Josh did a fantastic job and Jake did a great job of mostly being quiet through the service. His cousin and #1 fan, Talia was a big help with Jake all weekend. They're so cute together. As soon as we got in the car to go back to the hotel Jake was asleep so we did errands, I got a manicure and read in the car so Mr. Jake would actually sleep. Very necessary since we had a big party to go to that night!

Chillin' in the hotel!
The Vivier's know how to throw a Bar Mitzvah! The first time around for Michael's Bar Mitvah the theme was football and the dress code was Jerseys and Jeans! For Josh's Bar Mitzvah the theme was Rock-n-Roll and the dress code, Concert T's and Jeans.

We saw this t-shirt ages ago and knew it was perfect for our littler rapper. Jake is so old school!
The party was tons of fun with lots of food, music, drinks and fun. Jake loved it all! Cute picture from when you entered the party!

Dancing with Daddy and lots of dancing! The picture below (although blurry) is not the only time that Jake was surrounded by cute young women. Alex and his cousins: Ashley, Alex, Josh and Scott. Below is the same group plus Brenna.
Zayde and Dorry sit with Jake as he happily dives into a delicious cupcake! Yum!

Good friends and neighbors of Philip and Brenna hosted a lovely brunch for everyone on Sunday morning. It was a really nice end to a wonderful weekend. Can't wait for Talia's Bat Mitzvah next!
Alex with the former and current Bar Mitzvah boys, Michael and Josh. Below Jake clowns around with big cousin Josh.

With his #1 girl (after mommy, of course), Talia. She was such a help and so sweet with him!
(Uncle) Papa and (Aunt) Noonie having a laugh with Jake! And below, me with the Ashley and Brenna!

Yet another gift for Jake from Noonie! Such a cute book. Thank you AGAIN, Noonie!

Dorry and Zayde came to Austin for a few days after the Bar Mitvah before heading back home. Besides hanging out with Jake, I think Dorry liked visiting Jake's school and getting to check out girlfriend, Leah.

We celebrated Alex's birthday a little early with a fabulous dinner out at Haddington's, sans Jake, before he took off for a University of Georgia alumni weekend that fell over his actual birthday. Despite missing Daddy on his birthday, Jake and I had a fun but busy weekend. On Saturday morning we went for a long walk before getting ready to attend a birthday party for our 1-year old friend Alex who has the same birthday as our Alex. Smart girl! We had an impromptu playdate with our friend Jackie and her dad, Kenny and a visit from my friend Katie. Jake loved it all, especially the visit from Katie which extended his bedtime almost a whole hour!

Sunday was busy too with a playdate with Jake's friend Solomon, some snuggle time on the couch with me and his latest obsession, "Clifford the Big Red Dog" and a trip to the airport to pick up daddy!

It is hard to believe that it is February except for the freezing temperatures (20 degrees is really, really cold here).
