So Grandpa Jerry came in on Thursday afternoon and was excited to see Jake as we picked him up from daycare. Even seeing him everyday, I'm amazed at how Jake is growing and developing. For my dad the two months since he'd last seen him really blew him away - especially some of the big things (also that we may have failed to mention in the blog) like his two bottom teeth coming in, sitting up unassisted, and his vocalization. I should add that we witnessed something new last night. While sitting in the pack-n-play (with the bassinet feature)he used the side to pull himself up to standing!
Hmmmm....How can I suck my thumb and eat my block at the same time?

Since I had a built-in babysitter, I planned to attend an after work Partnership event and had my dad pick up Jake. I was only slightly nervous about this proposition, not so much for Jake but for my dad. But he did great! By the time I got home Jake had been fed and was already sleeping. It was good, I got a much needed fun night out and Jake and Grandpa had some good boy-time!

On Saturday we ran a few errands in the morning before we were excited to have Alex come back home. We were at Trader Joe's and my dad suggested that we put Jake in the cart. My initial thought was that he was too little and that I didn't have the shopping cart seat cover but then I realized he wasn't and got over the whole cover thing, it was too cute to not take a picture of.

After we ran our errands we went to check out Cameron Station's "Art in the Park "which really should have been called "Jewelry in the Grassy Median" because there wasn't that much art and it really wasn't in the park. But it was nice to walk around and Grandpa Jerry took the Baby Bjorn out for a spin. He wondered if it was anything like the feeling of being pregnant...Oh please!

We also finally put together Jake's high chair (Thank you Shana and Greg)and he seems to really love it...or maybe he just still really likes his spoon! There he is just hanging out with his new dino that daddy brought him from Pittsburgh.

Daddy also brought him a "Terrible Towel" signed by Steeler great Lynn Swann.

It was a fun couple of days with Grandpa and we also enjoyed the chance to go out on Saturday night which was also really nice. A few other random things for the posting:
Daddy and Jake in their matching Addidas pants. Sorry Bonnie, we'll do Nike next time!

I'm starting to think Jake might be quite the little executive! Here he is checking the blackberry and hard at work at the computer. He particularly likes typing...actually its more like banging on the keyboard!
