"Birthday Week" started last Thursday with Becca's birthday. Our friend Carolyn offered to babysit - you remember her, our friend from Savannah, or I should say Jake's new best friend - to come and babysit, so I could take Becca out to a lovely restaurant in Old Town Alexandria called, 'The Majestic'.

We mostly took it easy over the weekend with so many grandparent visits sandwiched around these weeks, and Jake's east coast grandparents coming to town for his Zeyda's, my dad's, birthday. My parents stopped through on Sunday where we went out for brunch and wanted as much Jake time as possible before they headed up to Philadelphia.

Sunday was a nice, relaxing day, which mostly included Becca and I laying Jake on a blanket and watching "Ratatouille" with him (thank you, Carolyn, for the suggestion) & just having nice, quiet family time at home.

My parents came back through yesterday, my dad's actual birthday, and who better than to spend your actual birthday with than a super adorable grandson:

A very nice Birthday week, although as I write this, I have sadly already had to drop Mommy & Jake off at the airport so they can take their next family adventures to Chicago and then Detroit.
My loss, however, will be the gain of Grammy Carole, Ruthie the Great, Great Aunt Judy, and several other family in Chicago, and then onto Detroit where Jake will once again see his traveling Grandpa Jerry and several relatives on Jerry's side including his Uncle Earl, who turns a spry 100 years young this week. (I imagine a Jake & Earl picture will be forthcoming on the next blog).
