He is at the beginning stages of crawling which is both exciting and scary. He has a combination of moves that make up his current crawl - they include the (quickly improving) traditional crawl, the worm, a modified version of downward dog, a belly flop/swimming move, and the pilates swan.
Jake has also figured out that he doesn't have to take it lying down....sleep that is! On Saturday night I went into Jake's room and there he was just standing up in his crib waiting for someone to come and get him to start the day. Hoping that it was just a fluke, I thought we'd just wait and see but then last night I actually watched him pull himself up. Incredible! Jake slept in the pack-n-play that is still up in our room and Alex and I quickly lowered the crib to next level.
Somewhere between finishing law school and taking the bar, Alex's cousin Ashley let us know that she and Jake had a date for August 2nd and we were not invited! It was an offer that we couldn't refuse....thanks, Ashley!
Ashley and Jake

Besides the fact that Jake suckered Ashley into an extra bottle they did well together. Ashley had a little fun with our camera when we were out and got some very cute pics.
Proof that she got him to sleep!

The ceremony was very nice and Jake was very well behaved - thank goodness for Cheerios. He sat in the pew and happily munched away (relatively) quietly. After the ceremony we went to a cute little restaurant on Solomon's Island and got to spend a little more time with everyone. We were especially happy to get to sit with Andie and Dave. Jake particularly had a good time with the big guy, Dave.

Jake, always the gentleman, was happy to lend Molly his ride (his car seat) so she could take a nap during lunch after the service. He was happy to do so (and I think it scored some points with her dad) especially because now that he's such a big boy and sitting in a high chair he wasn't using it.
It was a really nice day and we can't wait to see Molly again soon!
