On Saturday morning we went down to Eastern Market on Capitol Hill for brunch with my friends/colleagues Bevin and Kristin and Kristin's sister Marcy.
We had planned to hang with the girls longer and enjoy a nearby neighborhood's Oktoberfest but it started to rain so Jake and I packed up and headed towards home. We took advantage of the rain and after a few errands stayed inside for the rest of the day!
On Sunday we headed back to the Hill to pick up our cousin Stephanie on our way (with only a short detour) over to Takoma Park to see my cousins Karen and Elliot. We love going to visit them but Karen definitely needs to stop having presents (thank you!) for Jake each time we come over!

Jake and Steph decide that is makes a better drum than side table.
Karen, Stephanie, Jake, and I took a walk after breakfast and when we came back we were treated to two more visitors - Ann and Albert Fishman! Karen's parents are my adopted East Coast grandparents and I think it is safe to say are big fans of their adopted great-grandson!

We were happy when Daddy came home on Sunday afternoon but had a very fun mommy and baby weekend!
Finally, Alex, Jake, and I wish all celebrating Rosh Hashana a happy and healthy New Year.
